Mango entering smaller Russian settlements through mini format
2010-08-26
The Spanish clothing retailer Mango is to open smaller-format stores in Russian towns and cities with populations of up to 500,000 people, reported Retailer.ru. The first stores of this kind will be opened at the beginning of 2011 and will be located in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Novy Urengoy. They will have trading areas of 100-150 m2, or roughly half the size of stores typically operated by the retailer.
In bigger cities, Mango plans to continue developing its larger-format stores (200-250 m2).
By the end of 2010, there will be three new Mango stores opened in St. Petersburg, two in Moscow and one each in Saratov, Voronezh and Yekaterinburg. Within the next 5-7 years, Mango plans for its presence in Russia to comprise 150-230 stores.
