Holiday to replace Alpi stores in Kemerovo Province

The Siberian retailer Holiday is to open four Palata grocery hypermarkets in Kemerovo Province on premises previously occupied by Alpi stores (Alpi has been declared bankrupt). The stores will occupy a combined area of 15,000 m² thus making this the largest one-time leasing agreement in Holiday’s history.
The premises in question are located in Kemerovo, Belovo, Anzhero-Sudzhensk and Mariinsk. Holiday, which operates more than 130 stores in Russia, has not disclosed the value of investment in the project.
The Palata chain was initially developed by the Kemerovo-basedcompany Kora, which merged with Holiday in autumn 2007. Up until now, however, the company had failed to open a single hypermarket since the merger.
