25.2 million dl of alcohol produced in Ukraine in H1 2010

In the first six months of this year, 25.2 million dl of vodka, liqueurs and spirits were produced in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian tax authorities. Vodka production accounted for almost 19.3 million dl of total production, while liqueurs and spirits accounted for just over 5.9 million dl.
During the period in question, alcohol producers operating in Ukraine sold 21.6 million dl within Ukraine and exported 3.6 million dl.
In terms of wine products, there was a total of 13.3 million dl of grape wine produced (up 27.8% on the previous year), over 1.3 million dl of cognac and 1.9 million dl of champagne. Sales of wine products on the domestic market included: 11.9 million dl of grape wine, 1.5 million dl of champagne and 1.3 million of cognac. Exports of wine products from Ukraine in H1 2010 consisted of 0.03 million dl of cognac, just over 0.5 million dl of grape wine and 0.2 million dl of champagne.
As of 1 June 2010, 229 entities were authorised to produce alcoholic beverages in Ukraine.
