TsentrObuv enters Ukrainian footwear market

The popular Russian discount footwear retailer
TsentrObuv plans to open a total of 200 stores in Ukraine, of which 20 will be located in Kiev. The company plans to introduce two chains,
TsentrObuv and
Tsentro, both of which are already established in Russia. The first stores operating under these banners in Ukraine are set to appear in March 2011.
Tsentrobuv has been operating on the
Russian footwear market since 1996 and currently operates over 350 stores in the country. The average area of a TsentrObuv store in Russia is about 300 m
2, and shoes retail for an average of $20 per pair in TsentrObuv and $25 in Tsentro stores.
