Coca-Cola Hellenic reports revenue increase in Russia for H1 2010

Coca-Cola Hellenic, the exclusive bottler of Coca-Cola in Russia and the CIS countries, has reported a 3% increase in sales in Russia for H1 2010 after a significant drop in 2009.
Notably, the increase in sales in Q2 2010 was 6% year on year. In 2009, the company observed a 13% year-on-year decline in sales to 299.7 million units cases.
Following a FIFA World Cup marketing campaign and extensive sampling promotional activities, the volume of Coca-Cola-trademarked products sold grew by double-digit p. p. in Russia in Q2 2010. The volume of juice sold grew by low-single digit percentage points during the same period – a result primarily due to marketing activities.
In a statement released by the company, Coca-Cola Hellenic claims to see signs of economic stabilisation in Russia; unemployment has fallen and a rise in real disposable income is driving increased consumer demand and spending.
