Bosch und Siemens to build plant in Russia

BSH Bytovye Pribory,
an affiliate division of
Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete (BSH), is to construct its second factory in Russia, in Strelna near St. Petersburg. The project with the planned yearly output of 350,000 washing machines requires investments of €20
-25m. The construction is planned to be completed by 2012.
Currently, BSH operates a plant in Strelna, producing refrigerators. Its yearly output reaches 500,000 units.
BSH estimates its current share in the Russian market of white goods at 17% and the value of this market at €2.6bn. Refrigerators constitute a 27% share in this market and washing machines, 25%, according to BSH.
