Lenta builds its first hypermarket in Rostov-on-Don

The grocery retailer
Lenta has started the construction of its first hypermarket in Rostov-on-Don.
In 2007 the company had planned two openings in the city, however, it later decided to launch just one hypermarket. Construction was scheduled to start in 2008, but was subsequently postponed due to the financial crisis and began only in October 2009.
The hypermarket is to begin operations on 1 July 2010. It will occupy a total area of 12,400 m
2, of which 6,600 m
2 will be trading area. It will feature 15,000 SKUs. The project represents an investment of RUB 779m ($26.5m).
