Sedmoy Kontinent among 50 brands with fastest rate of growth

The grocery retailer Sedmoy Kontinent is among the 50 fastest growing brands in the world within the last ten years, alongside such giants as Apple, Coca-Cola and Google, according to research provided by Millward Brown agency and Jim Stengel. The Russian company is ranked in the 41^st position.

As Retail Update Russia reported on previous occasions, Sedmoy Kontinent's gross profit reached in H1 2011 RUB 6.8bn ($222.6m) and grew by 18%, while its operational profit increased by 27% to RUB 1.7bn ($55.7m) year on year. In turn, the company’s net profit in January-June 2011 amounted to RUB 1.8bn ($59m). Market experts point out that it became the most profitable publicly listed retailer in Russia with gross profitability of 27.6%.

The Stengel study examined 50,000 brands across 30 countries. The list included top brands that had demonstrated the highest financial performance and customer engagement, loyalty and advocacy over a 10-year period (2001-2011).
