Billa planning M&A growth in Ukraine

Rewe Group (Germany), is considering potential M&A deals on the Ukrainian market in 2012, as well as organic openings in the country. The company is to focus mainly on increasing its Billa store count in Kiev and Kiev Province and a number of million-plus population cities, thus, in the regions where the company is already present. 2.
Today, Billa-Ukraine operates 22 supermarkets in 13 cities. By the end of 2015 the chain is expected to grow to 68 units. The first Ukrainian Billa store was opened in 2000. According to biz.liga.net, since then the company has invested UAH 500m ($63m) in developing the chain.
