Another Nemiroff dispute

Yakov Gribov and Anatoly Kipish, who hold most of the shares of Nemiroff, a major Ukrainian producer of alcoholic drinks, have expressed their intention to register a firm in the USA and to transfer to it the rights to all Nemiroff brands and production assets in Ukraine. The decision was taken by the board of directors in Vienna on 9 December 2011. Aleksandr Glus, the owner of the blocking shares, considers the decision to be illegitimate and has promised to impede the actions of the majority holders, taking legal action if necessary.
The conflict on the Nemiroff board of directors has lasted since spring this year, when an effort to sell the company to a strategic investor failed. As Retail Update Russia reported on a previous occasion, the company's major shareholders have been trying to launch contracted production in Russia and Belarus this winter.
