Loss for WBD between January and September 2011

The two main companies in the
Wimm-Bill-Dann (WBD) group, a Russian producer of dairy products, i.e. Wimm-Bill-Dann and
Wimm-Bill-Dann Produkty Pitania, reported net losses between January and September 2011.
Specifically, Wimm-Bill-Dann reported a net loss of RUB 628m ($20.2m) during the period in question. This was, however, a reduction in comparison with the net loss of RUB 2.3bn ($74m) in the first nine months of 2010. The company earned revenue of RUB 49.2bn ($1.58bn) between January and September 2011.
Another company, Wimm-Bill-Dann Produkty Pitania, made a net loss of RUB 1.57bn ($50.5m), in stark contrast to its net profit of RUB 1.2bn ($38.6m) a year before. Its revenue came to RUB 2.39bn ($76.9m).
As
Retail Update Russia reported on a previous occasion, the WBD group has been acquired by US
PepsiCo, and the first stake in the company, 66%, cost $3.8bn. The American company controls more than 97% of WBD.
