Hoff to open for business in St. Petersburg
2011-11-22
Domashny interyer, which operates the
Hoff DIY and furniture retail chain in Russia, intends to launch its first store in St. Petersburg in the next six months. This 8,000-m² facility will replace the former
Eldorado consumer electronics store in the Grand Kanyon retail centre. The amount invested is expected to be $4m at most.
As
Retail Update Russia reported on a previous occasion,
Domashny interyer terminated its franchise agreement with the Austrian
kika/Leiner group (operating in the same retail sector as Domashny interyer) in July 2011 and re-branded all of its stores as Hoff in August. There are five Hoff hypermarkets in Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Krasnodar and Voronezh. The company has 56,000 m² of retail space in total.
Domashny interyer is co-owned by Mikhail Kuchment and Aleksander Zayonts, the former senior managers of
M.Video, the prominent Russian consumer electronics retailer.
